Here are a few of the great things that are happening at our school
Family Advent Mass
Once again we will be having a Family Advent Mass on Wednesday December 19 2012 at Holy Martyrs of Japan church at 7 pm. We are inviting all of our families to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and come out and spend an evening in prayer as we prepare for the birth of our Saviour. Students will be actively involved in much of the preparation and presentations during the evening. We hope to see lots of families there.
FOOD DRIVE
November 26-30 is the last week to contribute to our school's food drive in support of the local food bank. Please send in non perishable items to help those in our community who need our help.
Bucket Filling
As part of our Anti-bullying week, students have been talking in their classes about being bucket fillers (someone who helps others feel good about themselves), as opposed to being a bucket dipper (someone who says or does things to make others feel bad about themselves). Students were read stories and discussions are happening about how to deal with bucket dippers. If you are in the school, please take a look in the office about the art work that students did to show that we are using our 'hands, heart and head' to work cooperatively with others.
C.R.E.W Community Reaching Each other Works
This is a unique opportunity where some of our senior students, along with staff and parents get together to discuss and plan how to make all feel included in our school community. This group was instrumental in developing and encouraging all to sign our anti-bullying pledge banner that is displayed in our front foyer. The have been discussing how to be bucket fillers and inviting students to fill each other's buckets. They will be instrumental in planning and organizing our school's contribution to Canada's largest penny drive where we will be helping to provide water for people in Africa. If you would like to become a part of this group, please contact the school and ask to speak with Mme. Legault
