Dear MTB Families,
I sincerely hope that all of you are safe and managing through this very difficult time. Things appear to be changing by the hour and part of our daily routine now involves watching the announcements made by our Premier and our Prime Minister. I believe that the people in our community will continue to support each other and we will get through this together. If I can help in any way, please feel free to contact me at any time.
As many of you heard from our Premier, it is highly unlikely that classes will resume on April 6. School boards and the provincial government are devising a plan on how best to accommodate the needs of our students in these extraordinary times.
Week 1 March 23 - 27: Parents are directed to the newly developed Ministry Website “Learn at Home” platform.
In order to support distance learning, a survey is being developed for our families to determine availability of technology and Internet access. Learning at home resources will need to be robust and challenging. Further decisions around accessibility will be made based on the results. Please take the time to fill out the survey so we can better serve your son/daughter.
Social isolation has its toll on many of us. Encourage your child to Facetime their friends, relatives etc. Follow us on Twitter @SMCDSB_MTB. I will continue to post fun pics to boost their spirits. The teachers really miss the kids and social media is a fun way to stay connected.
