Dear MTB Families,

Congratulations on finishing week three of online distance learning! It has certainly been a huge learning curve for students, parents and staff on a variety of levels. We thank our staff for all their hard work in facilitating this transition to a new style classroom. Staff are very excited with all the progress. We are all walking together!

Over the next week you may see some adjustments to schedules.  It is in the student’s best interest to complete work to continue to build academic skills, to further learning so they are better prepared for the following school year, and for assessment. However, online distance learning learning is certainly challenging as there are many considerations for families.  If the work is overwhelming for your child and for you to navigate during the day for any reason, please reach out to your child’s teacher. We do not want to add to the stress that families already feel. Teachers will work with families to help support needs.

We thank parents for supporting students with managing the technology, setting up work schedules at home, establishing distraction free work environments (as much as possible!) and simply being positive and encouraging.  Feel free to review your child’s work, redirect, ask questions, make suggestions, help with editing, etc.
Please keep in your prayers those in our community who are suffering in many different ways and, as well, our many parents who are front line workers.  Also, please keep the many families in Nova Scotia who are going through a very difficult time.

Holy Martyrs of Japan Church will be celebrating Live Mass every Sunday at 10:00.  This is a great way to stay connected with our Church.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

Stay safe,

Mrs. Newman
