This will be the second (and final) class allocated for the group Michael Jackson song performance.  Performances will happen next week Monday, November 7 (Ms. F) and Tuesday, November 8 (Mr. G.)

Week of October 24

Grade 7
Students will compare the music of the country that they researched to the music of another country.  Work will be completed in class.

Grade 8
With their group, students will learn and practice a Michael Jackson song from the period that they researched. This will be one of two classes allocated for this. Time will also be given by the homeroom teacher to choreograph a dance to this song.  
Performances of the song and dance together will be on November 7 (Ms. F) and November 8 (Mr. G).

In a small group (as assigned by teacher) research the music of a specific country/style.  You will be given an introductory page to start you off and well as a list of other resources.  iPads will be available for additional research. Two classes will be given for the research.  
During the week of October 17, you will share your learning in a "World Music Fair".
For this you will need to create a display board and have samples of music to play.

Students will have the class to complete an adaptation of a song so that it is about Saint Teresa of Calcutta.  The song lyrics must be handed in at the end of the class.
